Bio
Gabe has over ten years of professional experience playing and teaching piano. He has taught private piano lessons and small group classes to a variety of age groups, incorporating multiple musical genres and methods of pedagogy. Gabe has also worked as a professional accompanist for over ten years, particularly with Modern Dance and Ballet studios. He has worked with Bay Area dance institutions such as LINES Ballet, ODC, and Berkeley Ballet Theatre. Gabe also has experience accompanying vocalists, in contexts ranging from jazz combos to religious services. In addition, Gabe has performed as a pianist at restaurants, bars, and jazz clubs throughout the Bay Area, including a three year residency at Tosca Cafe in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood. Gabe also performs at weddings and private parties.
A native of New Jersey, Gabe earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Rutgers University in 2010. After this, he relocated to the Bay Area, and is currently rooted in Oakland. Gabe started learning the piano when he was 6 years old. He later went on to learn guitar and percussion as well, but piano continues to be his primary instrument. Gabe started off with a classical training, and later went on to study jazz for several years. He now plays a variety of musical genres with competency. As of 2022, Gabe has been working full-time as a public school educator in the East Bay, but continues to pursue music gigs on the side.
